As a Support Broker, I offer comprehensive assistance to ensure your needs are met within your budget. I aid in various aspects such as recruiting, hiring, and managing staff, developing backup plans, and brainstorming alternative solutions when necessary. Additionally, I assist in problem-solving scenarios, like addressing tardiness among staff members, and elucidate program rules. Beyond waiver provisions, I connect you with community resources and opportunities. Importantly, Support Brokers serve as advisors or coaches, always working in your best interest without making decisions for you. Your level of reliance on me may vary, and you retain the right to switch Support Brokers if needed. For those who require additional help, appointing a representative is an option. Ultimately, Support Broker empower you to navigate self-direction comfortably and effectively.



What is a Support Broker?


Support Brokers are trained self-direction experts that provide help and advice as you self direct. If you are concerned about the responsibilities involved with self- direction, you will always have a Support Broker to help if you need it. A Support Broker does not replace your Case Manager. If you choose to self-direct, your Case Manager will still work with you to develop a person-centered plan and coordinate your services. A Support Broker’s job is to make sure you are getting what you need and want out of self-direction.
